Mirror has probably benefited most from the March 2008 netting out of all the lakes / ponds, there had certainly been an abundance of silver fish, causing a few problems for the Carp devotees, however the redistribution of fish has created a much better environment for the Carp, resulting in some surprising increases in weights.

 

120+ Carp over 9lbs, averaging around 14lbs 8ozs.

 

Largest Queenie, caught in August 2008 at 28lbs 3ozs!! Now she just keeps putting on weight.

 

We have Ghost, Mirror, Common, Leather and Grass carp. And of course specimen Eels to around 7lbs.

 

Now getting a lot more catches of carp between 21lbs and 28lbs whereas before March there was a big gap in this range. So it appears that the fish are getting a lot more food because most of the silver fish have been removed.
