Subject: fishing story
My son goes to Collaton St Mary Playschool and was saying to his dad
outside, while waiting to go in that he wanted to go fishing for his birthday,
a lady (Catherine) stood there with her children is one of the managers of
Newbarn Farm and came back the next morning with two tickets for him and
his dad to go fishing for the day.
My son Luke was so excited with this that they went a few weeks later.
As he is only 3 years old we knew he was not going to stay still all
day so my husband and Luke's grandad went up for the day while we went out,
we went up late afternoon to meet them so Luke could have a go at fishing.
Luke walked straight up to his dad's seat box, sat down, picked up the rod,
reeled it in and said red worm please, ie maggot, then his dad helped him
cast, he let the float sit there for a few moments and then decided it
was time to reel it in with or without a bite.

It was very lucky that
there was a little perch on the end for him when it come out of the water.
He excitement on his face to see that he had his first ever fish was fantastic.
We just had time to take a quick picture before he plonked the float back
in the water saying more fish please.
We wish to say thank you to New Barn Farm for a good fishing session,
the quality of the fish is good and the site has good facilities and for
letting such a little inexperience child up there to give the sport a try, we
would recommend the site to anyone and more places should be encouraging
younger people to give the sport a try like New Barn as they are the future.
We are sending this story to the sport section but Luke is also a
junior news hound so they might want a copy of it as it encourages sport in children.
Many thanks and hope you can print the story
